As a carcinogenic chemical, THC directly impacts the central nervous system (CNS).  It impacts a huge selection of neurotransmitters and catalyzes other biochemical and enzymatic activity too.

The CNS is stimulated while the THC activates specific neuroreceptors in the brain resulting in the many physical and psychological reactions which are going to be expounded on more especially further on.  The only substances that may trigger neurotransmitters are chemicals that mimic chemicals the brain generates naturally.

Independent of bud's connection with the compound, dopamine is currently a modest known neurochemical and its assumed neuroscientific functions of working and function are still largely hypothetical.

Cannabinoid receptors can be found throughout the mind thus affecting a large array of functioning.  The most crucial on the psychological level is that the stimulation of their brain's nucleus accumbens perverting the mind's natural reward centres.
